Hi-Score

How it works

Practise, play ranked, climb the board.

Hi-Score is a league of short skill games. Here is everything that happens between your first practice run and a prize at your door.

The four steps

  1. 1. Practise for free. Learn every game at no cost, as often as you like. Practice never touches the board.
  2. 2. Play a ranked round. Rounds start at R5. Each round gives you three ranked attempts, and your best one counts.
  3. 3. Climb the board. Our server replays and scores every attempt. Your rank updates as each score is confirmed.
  4. 4. Top it at close. The highest confirmed score when the league closes takes the prize and goes on the Wall of Fame.

Rounds and attempts

A ranked round costs from R5, and the price is always shown before you pay. Each round gives you three ranked attempts. Your best attempt is the one that counts on the board. You can buy more rounds while a league is open.

Practice is free and unlimited. Practice scores never go on the board, so you can learn a game properly before you play for a prize.

Levels

Every game climbs through three levels, from easy to hard. The three chevrons in the Hi-Score logo are those levels, and the game shows you which one you’re on as you play.

Scoring

Your phone records what you do, tap by tap, and sends it to our server when the attempt ends. The server replays your attempt with the same game and works out the score. That score is the one that counts. The number you see during play is a preview until the server confirms it.

Every game measures something real, like milliseconds or centimetres, and shows it on screen, so you always know how close you were.

The leagues

  • Daily. One game, a fresh board every day, and everyday prizes like hampers and kitchen gear.
  • Weekly. Seven days to post your best score, with bigger prizes on the line.
  • Monthly. The month's top prizes go to the players who keep their level week after week.
  • Season Finals. The season's best players meet in person and play on identical phones for the top prize.

Each league shows its game, prize, close time and tiebreak before you enter.

Ties

Each game has its own tiebreak, written in its rules. In Ponte, the tower with the closest average landing wins. For monthly prizes, a tie goes to a live playoff.

If your phone dies or the connection drops

If an attempt is cut off by our server or by your phone, the attempt is closed and a credit goes back on your account automatically. You don’t have to ask. We may limit credits where interruptions look deliberate. Read the details in credits and refunds.

Winning

When a league closes, the highest confirmed score takes the prize. We contact you, confirm your identity and arrange delivery or collection. Your name goes on the Wall of Fame if you agree to it.
